TRAINER PROFILE
Jon Bell, Hons.BA.Kin., CSEP-CPT
Jon has spent several years working with clients in the the fields of personal training and rehabilitation. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology & Health Science from York University and holds a Certified Personal Trainer membership with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. He has worked in multiple rehabilitation settings with all age groups. Jon has a firm belief in the benefits of exercise and taking a proactive approach to health through active living and healthy nutrition choices.
CSEP
The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) is the principal body for physical activity, health and fitness research, and personal training in Canada. CSEP fosters the generation, growth, synthesis, transfer and application of the highest quality research, education and training related to exercise physiology and science. CSEP is considered the GOLD STANDARD of health and fitness professionals dedicated to getting Canadians active safely by providing the highest quality customized and specialized physical activity and fitness programs, guidance and advice based on extensive training and evidence-based research.
KINESIOLOGY
By it's broadest definition, kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement. The term involves the applications of areas such as physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, psychology, and other health science fields. In the realm of personal training, applied knowledge of the body's energy systems, cardiorespiratory function, muscle function, and training principles are crucial for implementing safe and efficient exercise programs.
